The Powdersafe contaminated mail isolation system provides users with the means to identify, assess and control the risks associated with daily mail processing. The Powdersafe system is built to the highest technical standards and consists of an isolation chamber, a transport case and a DVD containing information on how to use the system and an overview of identification of suspicious mail. Powdersafe is endorsed by the Australian Government (SCEC) and is used by government, corporate entities and emergency responders worldwide. Powdersafe is the complete system for dealing with suspicious mail believed to contain a contaminant. Powdersafe controls suspicious mail from point of discovery right through to final analysis of the powder. The Powdersafe system protects the health and safety of people processing mail, emergency responders, laboratory technicians, and mail recipients. Isolation Chamber

Designed to accommodate suspicious mail items, the isolation chamber is used to isolate and contain the suspect item. This allows the user to safely examine the contents of the envelope in a secure environment. The isolation chamber is certified gas-tight, easy to use, and is compatible with category one and two biological safety cabinets used in laboratories throughout the world. The isolation chamber has two ports which allow testing authorities to insert probes in order to sample the contents without having to open the main seal. The isolation chamber comes with two letter openers with recessed blades that cannot accidently cut the gloves. The isolation chamber does not require power to operate, has a simple locking mechanism and does not require artificial lighting. The isolation chamber fits snugly into the transport case. Transport Case

The wheeled transport case allows authorities to safely remove the suspect item from the workplace and take it to a testing facility. The transport case is fitted with two independent seals; and, is double walled and insulated to provide the highest level of protection. The transport case containing the isolation chamber provides triple wall, triple seal containment between the unknown contaminant and the outside environment. This combination of isolation chamber and transport case is designed to meet transport regulations for the transport of potentially hazardous material.The colour is highly visible and the retractable handle and wheels make it easy to maneuver.

Annual Maintenance
Powdersafe recommends that an annual service of the Powdersafe system is conducted by a qualified Powdersafe service representative. Customer Annual Service – Glove box only, replace gloves and seals, clean and test the glove box. The service ensures that the consumable components are replaced and the system inspected to ensure integrity and maintain protection.
